Innovator Capital Management came to Doyle seeking a larger office space for their first official headquarters to support their growth and leadership position in the exchange-traded fund (ETF) industry. The project involved a full renovation of a historic former bank building, transforming it into a modern headquarters with office suites, a conference room, kitchen space, and common areas.
A key challenge of the project included preserving notable historical features, such as the bank’s original vault, aging over 100 years, along with intricate stairways and terrazzo flooring, blending modern functionality with the building’s historic charm. At the same time, the building’s historical nature presented a challenge with regard to achieving the client’s desired modern façade. Significant structural work was required in order to remove and completely revitalize the building’s front, including temporarily reinforcing and shoring it during construction. This meticulous approach allowed us to preserve the building’s structural integrity while giving Innovator Capital Management a fresh, distinctive headquarters in downtown Wheaton.
