The Wheaton Park District, a longstanding repeat client, set out to replace an aging duck barn with a facility that could better support daily animal care while also creating a purpose-built space for interactive, educational experiences for zoo visitors. The project included demolition of the existing structure and construction of a new 1,500 SF Educational Pavilion and Duck Enclosure designed to enhance both animal welfare and the overall visitor experience.
Completed while the zoo remained fully open, Doyle carefully coordinated heavy equipment operations and material deliveries to avoid disrupting daily visitor traffic and staff activities. Construction was also sequenced to work alongside ongoing City-led improvements on the adjacent main street, allowing the project to move forward smoothly and be completed within budget.
